Tech Support reserves the right to reboot your server as needed when performing support, therefore we strongly recommend that a dedicated machine be used for all ESC Products. Do not use Windows XP for your server O/S. Do not use your Primary Domain Controller or Backup Domain Controller
Network card installed and configured with static IP address. TCP/IP services must also be running on the Host computer system, be it an AS/400 or Unix. The Host must have the ability to Telnet, FTP, and LPR to a remote address.
If you have purchased the Web interface, you will need to have IIS installed and running on the LaserVault Server prior to install date.
An installed modem with DID telephone line or internet TCP/IP access must be available for remote technical support. This allows ESC technical support to connect to your server to help diagnose any problems that you might encounter with your Content Express system. The program we use for remote support is PCAnywhere.
As part of your software package, 2 weeks prior to your install, Electronic Storage Corp. will ship you a copy of PCAnywhere. If you wish to use an Internet connection for remote diagnostics you may have to make changes to your firewall. If Internet support is chosen, we need to be able to reach the server from the Internet (direct connect to the Internet) with PCAnywhere via TCP/IP. Only one copy per customer. |
