New File Management Component Added to LaserVault Reports
|
|
LaserVault has developed a File Management component for its flagship product, LaserVault Reports. Systems administrators using LaserVault Reports will now be able to create and execute retention schedules for reports archived from iSeries, Unix, or other host systems. From the configuration side, the systems administrator can create a retention schedule that defines the expiration dates for reports. The retention schedule can be organized from the general archive level down to individual documents. Reports can be set to purge anywhere from the next day to several years later. The system administrator can also assign holds to individual documents, date ranges, or entire archives. Holds can be either indefinite or for a specific length of time, and will help insure that documents relevant to a particular litigation or audit process will not be lost or deleted. A periodic purge routine can be set to run daily or monthly that will read the retention schedules and delete files that have reached or surpassed their expiration date. The purge routine can also produce a preliminary report of what documents are scheduled to be deleted, for review by the systems administrator or management prior to actual deletion. LaserVault provides document management systems that are famous for being fast, easy-to-use, and inexpensive. Increasing system functionality while maintaining price and service is the company’s number one goal.
